VISTA October 2009 Newsletter - 21st Apr 2010

Welcome to the October 2009 newsletter
Welcome to the October edition of the VISTA newsletter.
This month saw the annual AGM and welcomed back many of the current Executive Committee members for another term. The returning committee members include: Rosalie Staggard, Anna Henderson, Paul Stalio, Colleen Morris, Andrew Williamson, Larry Foster, Clint Smith, Jeanette Swain, Shirley Good and Linda Smart. The AGM also welcomed new Executive Committee member, Anne Stasiak who was nominated on the night. Copies of the President’s report and the Treasurer’s report are available via the read more link. Of particular interest was that VISTA's financial position has been strong enough to ensure that member fees for 2009 - 2010 are maintained at the current level.
Apart from the AGM, October events include a unique workshop on developing your own facilitation skills, a very valuable asset for any VET professional. This workshop was so popular that all places were taken up within three hours of releasing the registration.  VISTA is planning a second workshop with registrations being available immediately after the 27th October event. Also in October is the Fireside Chat with Alan Ross, CEO of Construction and Property Services ISC (28th October).  Places are still available for this event and it is highly recommended for those working within building and construction (including plumbing), property services (security, waste management, spatial management, property development and management, carpet and fire equipment management).  Also of interest will be the range of national Go Green initiatives implemented via the ISC.
Keep your eyes open for November events which include a follow up facilitation skills program,  coaching skills for managers, a fireside chat with Forestworks (tbc), and a breakfast workshop  on preparing yourself for career advancement.
Enjoy the articles and links to information which Dan McGuire has collated.
