A diverse community of VET professionals working in the TAFE, ACE and Private sectors will share experiences and achievements whilst building the foundations of an extensive strategy for workforce capability to guide the VET sector into the future.

Call for Submissions

The upcoming VISTA conference will provide the opportunity to showcase how organisations and individuals are approaching the critical issue ‘Tomorrow’s skills today: VET workforce challenge?’

This key theme explores how the current local, state and national strategies are evolving and addressing the need to advance skills and capabilities of the current VET sector workforce; and how these skills can be enhanced and developed to meet future needs.

The conference will bring together a diverse community of VET professionals to share experiences, achievements and progress to date. The challenge for presenters is to explore VET as an industry and to consider the foundations for building an extensive strategy for workforce capability to guide the sector. VISTA is committed to providing you with the latest and most relevant information. If you consider that you have valuable experiences to share in a workshop or presentation at this years conference please submit a proposal for consideration.

SEEKING PRESENTERS & FACILITATORS

VISTA is currently seeking presenters or workshop facilitators to share their experiences, achievements and key learning at the upcoming annual conference. If you are currently involved in a innovative program, strategy or initiative to identify and address contemporary VET professional skill development issues then please send your proposal to us by 6 March 2009. Proposals should be submitted in the VISTA Conference Proposal form.

CONFERENCE PROGRAM OUTLINE

  • Research findings clarifying the nature and extent of the skills shortage in the VET Sector
  • Insight into the roles and capabilities of the future VET professional
  • Critical analysis of proposed strategies and those used to date
  • Generic skills debate as it relates to the future VET practitioner
  • Specific skill requirements (ie. ICT, Sales & Marketing, Consultancy,Project Management)
