Theme
The title of the conference raises the challenge of how best to assess and address the skills needs of young people to improve their viability as employees. How do we engage and encourage them to create a positive employment future for themselves? What impact will funding contestability have on our delivery in terms of maintaining youth in study and progressing youth along the qualifications pathway? What strategies are available to help us remain encouraged in the demanding role as facilitators in the applied learning process?
The VISTA VALA conference seeks to offer VET professionals with frameworks, strategies and ideas to help prepare young people for the challenges they will face in the labour market. Conference scope to include:
• Student welfare
• Staff welfare
• Vocational Skills Assessments
• Literacy /Numeracy skills
• Employability skills
• New technology and engaging young people
• Interpersonal skills
• Impact of the contestable environment on delivery
Proposals
VALA and VISTA are seeking people to share their knowledge and experiences through workshops or presentations at this professional development day.
Sessions will run for 45 minutes. You may apply to run a double session of 90 minutes.
